Four Hands vs Solo Massage: What’s the Difference?

By the Bubbly & Sidra Massage Center Team · August 27, 2026

A four-hands massage involves two therapists working on the body simultaneously, in a coordinated rhythm that’s practiced and choreographed rather than random. The sensation is different from a solo massage — some clients describe it as harder to focus on any one area, which paradoxically makes it easier to fully switch off.

Solo massage, meanwhile, allows for more targeted, adjustable work, since there’s only one set of hands to direct. Neither is objectively better — it comes down to whether you want an immersive, full-body experience or more precise, focused attention.
